GALLOWAY aka Mirror Plate aka Virginia aka Woodrow aka U.S. Mirror aka Mirror was manufactured by U.S. Glass Company (Factory GP in Glassport, Pennsylvania and Factory U at Gas City, Indiana) circa 1904-1919. The official pattern number is 15086. It was made in a plethora of peices, some clear and some with gold.

Ruth Moncelle Morris began collecting Galloway in the 1960's. She was drawn the Galloway pattern as it was similar to the Virginia aka Banded Portland she also collected. As with the Banded Portland she was more drawn toward the clear versus the more colorful flashed items as they more readily matched the other EAPG she collected.

When we began trying to identify the many types of EAPG Ruth collected, this pattern eluded me for many months. It became my "nemisis" if you will and I was flabbergasted when I learned upon it's identity (thanks to eapgpatternglass.com & patternglass.com) that it was a very popular pattern. My "ire" at this beautiful glassware has since turned into love and I have "claimed it" as one of "my" collections and have added several lovely peices enhancing what was already a beautiful collection.
